Can I come for drinks in the evening?

Our inn becomes a restaurant in the evening we require the tables for our resident and non-resident diners. Therefore, we are not open to the public for casual drinking. We do not permit drinking at the bar or offer outside tables. Dinner service is reservation only to avoid any disappointment we recommend booking in advance.

Can we dine outside on an evening service?

We have tried to serve outside so customers can enjoy summer nights, the views and hear the brook babbling in the background. However, because we are close to the water, we do get midges appearing, it is not uncommon in the dale. We have taken the decision not to serve food outside. You are welcome to have a drink if you dare.

Do you have Allergy free bedding?

Please advise us when booking if you suffer from allergies so that we can make your stay at The White Lion Inn as comfortable as possible.

My baggage is really heavy?

If you are unable to carry your own bags, then please ask any staff member for assistance and arrangements will be made to carry your luggage.

What time is Breakfast?

Breakfast is served from 8.30am to 9.30am and is included in the room rate.

When is the Bar & Restaurant open?

Bar

12pm – 6.00pm

Lunch

12pm – 2.30pm

Dinner

6pm – 8.30pm (Reservations Only)

Residents Bar

12pm – 10.30pm

What is your Cancellation Policy?

The cancellation policy requires all amendments and cancellations to be finalised 14 days prior to the booked arrival date. Any changes following this time will result in a 100% room charge being applied to the credit card used to confirm the booking. All tariffs are subject to alteration without prior notice. Please note any booking cancellations must be received in writing.

When can I check in/out?

From 4.30pm onwards, however guests may register from 12.00pm and leave their luggage.
Please kindly vacate the room by 11.00am.

Do you provide Cots & Extra Beds?

Travel Cots are available at an additional charge of £5.00 per night to be booked in advance.
A Z bed is available at the time of booking for an additional charge of £10.00 per night (premium rooms only).

Do you cater for food allergies?

Please advise us when booking if you have any special dietary requirements, so we can notify the kitchen.

Are you Dog friendly?

We accept well behaved dogs in our ground floor rooms and public areas of the Inn. Clean, lovely smelling dogs are welcome in the restaurant. There is an additional charge of £10 per night.

Are children welcome?

Children are very welcome at the White Lion Inn when accompanied by an adult from 12-6pm.
Travel Cots and highchairs can be provided on request, we can offer a ½ portion of fish and chips or sausage and mash but do not have a children’s menu per se.

What do I do in case of a Fire or Emergency?

The Inn is fully equipped with fire prevention devices. For your additional safety, please familiarise yourself with the fire alarm locations, exit routes, and fire safety guides located on the back of your room door and in the guest information pack.

Do you have an Iron & Board?

Available on request, please contact a member of staff.

Where can I Park my car?

We have limited car parking so would be grateful if you could park as efficiently as possible. If you are not requiring your car during your stay please let us know and we can double up the space or request you park behind the pub.

Can I have Take Away food?

Take away food is not permitted in the bedrooms.

Do you permit smoking?

We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout the Inn and there are fire sensors in each room.

Do you offer Wi-Fi?

Free wireless internet is available throughout the building.

Do I need to reserve a table for dinner?

We always reserve a table for residents to be used at their leisure. Dinner is served from 18:00 until 20:30 you are welcome to dine any time.
